The St. Francisville City Council met in special session Wednesday, June 24th to take action regarding its water well system.
They voted unanimously to accept the bid of Brotcke Well and Pump, Inc. a well drilling contractor based out of Fenton, Missouri for cleaning work on Well #6 in its water field.
The action was necessary after a recent analysis of the water being produced by the well discovered iron related bacteria issues with the groundwater, but no indication of any direct connection to the surface water.
The cost of the cleaning of the well itself and the proposed treatment plan will cost just over $35,700 and a post-video inspection of the well will cost an additional $1,950.
