The Marshall County Plan Commission will hold a special public meeting on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in room 203 of the County Building. The meeting will discuss the next steps of the transition plan to hire a new County Plan Director.

The Marshall County Board of Zoning Appeals will hold a special meeting on Dec. 3 for the Tamarack Solar Energy request for a special use variance to allow a 150-megawatt, farm-scale solar energy system that has 1,435 acres within the perimeter fencing in West and Union Townships.

This is a continuation of the meeting at Plymouth High School on Nov. 7. It will be held at the Plymouth Wesleyan Church, 11203 South Michigan Road in Plymouth, at 6 p.m.

The Marshall County Board of Zoning Appeals will hold its regular meeting on Dec. 10 at 7 p.m. in the second-floor meeting room of the County Building. The agenda includes a variance of development standards request from Robert and Pam Whisman at 19298 2C Road in Polk Township to allow a reduction in density. Matt Troyer has requested a home-based furniture woodworking business at 1611 3rd Road in Bremen.

The County BZA will consider Caleb Coffel's request for a variance to allow a Confined Animal Feeding Operation (CAFO) at 3560 Grape Road in Bremen. The BZA will also consider a variance from Lavere Stump to permit a layer-barn that doesn’t meet the 1,320 residential setback requirements on Quince Road in Union Township.
