The Gibson County Sheriff's Department reports that a suspect is in custody in connection with the deaths of three people and the wounding of another in the town of Haubstadt.
Authorities received a 911 call Thursday evening about shots being fired in the 12000 block of South Scottsdale Drive and multiple units responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, a witness inside the residence identified the male shooter, who was taken into custody without incident.
A search of the location discovered three deceased individuals inside as well as a fourth individual critically injured. That person was flown by medical helicopter to an area hospital for treatment. Four other people inside were not injured.
The suspect is 77-year-old Patrick John Waite of Haubstadt. He was transported to the Gibson County Jail in Princeton and was being held without bond preliminarily charged with Murder. Other charges could be pending.
