The Shelbyville Police Department is warning the public about an increase in thefts from vehicles over the past few weeks.
Many of the vehicles involved were left unlocked. At least one locked vehicle has been targeted, according to the police department, who is offering simple precautions:
- Remove all valuable from your vehicle
- Lock doors and close all windows
- Park in well-lit area whenever possible
- Never leave firearms, keys, wallets, purses or electronics in vehicle.
If suspicious activity is noticed in your neighborhood, contact the Shelbyville Police Department immediately so officers can check the area. Do not confront suspicious individuals.
