An off-duty police officer observed a man known to be wanted on a warrant in the grocery store and assisted with his arrest.

On Wednesday, August 6th, around 7:15 p.m., officers from the Plymouth Police Department were contacted by an off-duty officer who said there was a wanted person inside the Kroger store.

Officer Fisher arrived at the scene and identified 25-year-old Shane Wilson of 1st Street in Plymouth.

Wilson was detained at Kroger's and taken into custody. He was then transported to Plymouth Hospital for medical clearance after a recent surgery, and subsequently to Marshall County Jail, where he was booked on four outstanding warrants.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
