Officer Wallace with the Plymouth Police Department observed a vehicle traveling southbound on North Oak Drive without functioning taillights Thursday, October 24th at 5:40 in the morning. A traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle near the intersection of North Oak Drive and Jefferson Street.
During the traffic stop it was discovered that the driver, Ismael Rodriguez-Mejia, 43, of Plymouth, was operating the vehicle without ever receiving a driver’s license. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Marshall County Jail and lodged for the pending charge of operating a motor vehicle without ever receiving a license. He was held on a $100 cash bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
