After days of donations and competition between seven volunteers, the final results for the 2026 Ride the Lightning fundraiser with the Fulton County Sheriff's Department came to a head May 13, with lucky contestant Andy Brubaker being the one to be tased for the fundraiser.
This year the event raised $9,037.94 for the local FOP Lodge #143 Shop With a Cop program after the Fulton County Sheriff's Office called on locals to step up and volunteer with organizations willing to “Ride the Lightning.”
Volunteers included Levi Brown, who raised $2,010.00; Jenna Neal, who raised $1,565.00; Joe Bauer, who raised $1,270.00; Brandi Stalbaum, with $1,240.00; Grady McCall, with $1,208.00; Shaun Mudd with $1,066.46; and Andy Brubaker in last place with $678.48.
Brubaker's last place honor meant he a taste of the taser on May 14, at the Fulton County Sheriff's Office as part of the annual tradition that helps light up Christmas for local kids and families in need with Shop with a Cop Fulton County.
