Last Week, Marshall County Republican Party Chairman Deb VanDeMark announced a caucus to fill four elected seats.  This weekend she announced the need to fill another open seat and put out a clarification for the Bremen position.

The new vacancy was created when Bill Githens, who has been a member of the Culver Town Council since 2019, submitted his resignation. He is moving out of the area and will no longer be able to serve on the board. A candidate for this seat must be Republican and live within the Culver town limits.  This vacancy will be filled on Thursday, December 5th at 6 p.m.

The clarification from VanDeMark pertains to Janet Anglemyer's resignation as the Town of Bremen's clerk-treasurer. Any interested candidate for this position must live in the Town of Bremen limits.

The other Marshall County Republican Party caucuses on Thursday, December 5th, include a replacement for County Council member Adam Faulstich who was elected commissioner in the November election.  He will vacate his council seat at the end of the year, two years early.  Any Republican interested in this seat must live in the County Council’s 4th District, which includes precincts 1, 2, 3, 4, and 8 in Center Township.

German Township Trustee, Ben Baker announced his resignation at the end of the year along with Don Meister, a member of the German Township Advisory Board.  Any German Township Republicans are eligible to file for these positions.

Any Republican in good standing interested in one of these open elected positions should file a Declaration of Candidacy (CEB-5) and Statement of Economic Interest (CAN-12) forms no later than 72 hours before the Thursday, December 5th meeting.  The meeting will be held at Republican Headquarters, 117 West Water Street in Plymouth.

Anyone seeking additional information should contact Republican County Chairman Debbie VanDeMark at 574-274-8325.
