State Representative Heath VanNatter filed for reelection this week.

Representative VanNatter is a leading voice in the Indiana General Assembly on issues affecting employers, trades professionals, and the state’s growing workforce. As chair of the House Employment, Labor and Pensions Committee, he has helped guide legislation aimed at expanding job opportunities, strengthening worker training pipelines, and safeguarding Indiana’s public safety pension funds and securing funding for state employee 13th checks. His work has also included efforts to streamline regulations, support small business owners, and promote safe, affordable housing across the state.

A lifelong resident of north‑central Indiana, VanNatter built his career in the construction industry and has owned VanNatter Construction for nearly three decades. His leadership extends beyond the Statehouse, with service on the boards of the Indiana Builders Association and the National Association of Home Builders, as well as past presidency of the Howard County Home Builders Association. He and his wife, Felicia, are active in their community and have three adult children and two granddaughters.

House District 38 covers a wide stretch of Indiana’s heartland, including all of Carroll and Tipton counties and portions of Cass, Clinton, Howard, and Tippecanoe counties. The district is home to a diverse mix of agricultural communities, manufacturing centers, and small‑town main streets.

VanNatter said the decision to run again comes from his desire to continue advocating for the region’s families, employers, and future workforce. “Our district is full of people who show up every day, work hard, and take care of their communities,” VanNatter said. “I want to keep fighting for policies that support those values—policies that help our local businesses grow, strengthen our workforce, and keep our towns thriving for the next generation.”
