Rep. Greene recognized for Statehouse efforts by autism advocacy groups

State Rep. Robb Greene (R-Shelbyville) was recently recognized by two autism advocacy groups in Indiana.

Greene was named Legislative Champion from the Indiana Providers of Effective Autism Treatment (InPEAT) and Legislator of the Year by The Arc of Indiana.

InPEAT Board President Jason McManus said Greene's work on Indiana's Applied Behavior Analysis Therapy Working Group formed under Gov. Mike Braun alongside his work with other advocacy groups including the Autism Society of Indiana, My Autism Ally and others, are examples of his advocacy and leadership.

“It was an honor and a pleasure to work with Rep. Greene on Gov. Braun’s ABA Working Group. He is a relentless fighter and advocate for Hoosiers with autism and their families," McManus said. "His leadership was vital to navigating the best possible outcomes within the working group and he gave a significant amount of his personal time to ensure that stakeholders' voices were represented. He is a true legislative champion who leads with his values, works toward common-sense solutions and cares deeply about the autism community.”

"State Rep. Robb Greene received The Arc of Indiana’s Legislator of the Year Award because of his commitment to the issues important to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities," said Arc of Indiana CEO Kim Dodson. "His leadership in 2025 led to the elimination of the marriage penalty for those on the Medicaid Waiver and the creation of an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Working Group to stabilize a service receiving intense scrutiny and needing reform. Rep. Greene’s leadership is appreciated."

This year, Greene, alongside other advocates, studied applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy in Indiana and issued recommendations to the governor to consider moving forward. He also authored legislation in the past to study and track ABA therapy rate changes.

“No issue is as personal to me as a legislator—or as a father—than this one. Being recognized with these awards is an honor I feel deeply,” Greene said. “I’m profoundly grateful for the dedication of my colleagues on the ABA Working Group in fighting for children with autism, for their families, and for the providers who understand how essential this therapy is. I look forward to continuing this fight—alongside InPEAT, The Arc, families, providers and stakeholders—to strengthen autism services and support across Indiana.”
