The 4th Annual Tree Trot 5K Run is April 26 at Blue River Memorial Park in Shelbyville.
All proceeds from this event go to purchasing big trees to plant along the Blue River Cross Country Course at the park.
Pre-registration, which includes a T-shirt, is $30 until April 12. Registration fee is $40 after April 12 and does not guarantee a T-shirt.
Race day registration is $50 and ends at 7:45 a.m. on April 26.
The 5K run/walk begins at 8:15 a.m. in the park located at 725 Lee Boulevard.
Age group (male and female) winners receive a plotted tree sapling and a handmade medal.
Following the race, participants can select a tree to take home and plant. There also will be an opportunity to plant trees along the Blue River trail at the conclusion of the race.
