It’s a busy week at The REES as the Plymouth entertainment venue will show movies on Wednesday and Friday and host a special tailgate party on Saturday.
“Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” will be featured on Wednesday, Sept. 11th, for the Seasoned Citizens Matinee Showtime is 2 p.m. Tickets are $5 and includes a free box of popcorn and a fountain drink for people over 55. Come spend the afternoon with Paul Newman and Robert Redford as the most likable outlaws in frontier history.
A special Date Night Movie on Friday, Sept. 13, will feature the Spanish language film, “Radical,” starring Eugenio Derbez. The movie will include English subtitles. Showtime is 7:30 p.m.
The sixth-grade students at Jose Urbina Lopez Elementary are among the worst performing in Mexico. Facing a world of violence and hardship, not a possibility, it may seem like a dead end. But it is also the perfect place for new teacher Sergio Juarez to try something different.
Tickets for both movies are available online at reestheatre.com, at Na Rie Simple Treasures in downtown Plymouth, and at the box office 45 minutes before each movie.
On Saturday, Sept. 14, watch the Notre Dame Fighting Irish take on the Purdue Boilermakers on The REES’s giant digital screen while munching on your favorite tailgate food. Starting at 2:30 p.m., this indoor tailgate party will kick off. A seat for the game is free, a food option (burgers, brats, and sides provided by Opie’s Deli and pulled pork sandwiches from Bob’s Cafeteria and seasoned pretzels from Hershey’s Salty Snacks) will be available. At halftime, a Pizza Bill’s pizza bar will be available for everyone at $2 per slice.
The event will honor the work and memory of long-time veterinarian and John Purdue Club member Robert G. “Doc” Lindsey. While tickets are free, you must reserve your seat and order the food option online (reestheatre.com).
Get out your gameday outfit and come to The REES to support your favorite team.
