Randy L. Davis, 39, of South Bend, was arrested on Friday, August 29th, at about 2:40 in the morning after Officer Wozniak with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department observed the silver 2016 Chevrolet passenger car he was driving speeding.

The officer observed Davis in the area of Michigan and 6A Road north of Plymouth, and he was traveling 85 MPH in a posted 55 MPH zone. The officer was able to catch up to the vehicle on Michigan Road near 2C Road and initiated a traffic stop.

During the investigation, a probable cause search of the vehicle was completed, and a large amount of marijuana was located.

Davis was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail and held on a $250 cash bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
