While the snow fell on Putnam County Sunday, investigators from the Putnam County Sheriff's Office were busy trying to solve a shooting incident in Cloverdale.
According to Sheriff Jerrod Baugh, deputies responded to and assisted the Cloverdale Police with a shooting on Water Street in Cloverdale. Upon arrival, officers located a male, who suffered a gunshot wound to the stomach. The victim was transported to an Indianapolis hospital for further care.
augh said his department has taken over the investigation, and an investigator has interviewed the male at the hospital while others have worked on search warrants, interviewing witnesses, searching the area and obtaining evidence.
"At this time, law enforcement has no reason to believe that the public is in any danger. This case is still under investigation, and no other information can be released," Baugh said.
The Putnam County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone who may have seen anything out of the ordinary on Water Street, to email sheriff.info@co.putnam.in.us.
