Putnam County Museum to host “ For What It’s Worth -Antique Expo - August 16

The Putnam County Museum is offering a unique fundraiser for the second year in a row, For What It's Worth Antique Expo.

Local collectors, dealers, and affectionados will be available to speak with you about your grandma's china, pottery or that coverlet or quilt you picked up at the flea market! Maybe you have all of your relative's fishing lures and / or stamps! Our evaluators will look at your jewelry, trains, clocks, letters, old photographs, watches, art, cameras, books, ceramics, tools, coverlets or quilts. 

Perhaps you collect sports memorabilia; we have you covered there! Grandpa's coin collection? Small furniture? Household furnishings? Kitchen tools? We will have 15-20 collectors to help you discover the history of your antiques.  They are not appraisers but seasoned collectors who share your passion for historical items and will provide some valuation of your pieces.  

In addition, there will be a swap meet available.  The swap tables are first come, first served with the paid admission.

“This is a great opportunity to learn more about an item you have saved, collected or you consider one of your treasures and have it evaluated and identified by some of Putnam County’s knowledgeable specialists,” noted Vicki Timm, Putnam County Museum Board Member. 

“If you are a collector or just have a keepsake you would like to know more about, this is a great opportunity to learn more about your treasured item”  noted Rachel Barr, Executive Director of the Putnam County Museum.   She also noted, “We also will be providing an opportunity to trade, sell and purchase some items that individuals may bring to this Antique Expo.” 

The event will be at the Putnam County Museum from 1-4 PM on August 16, 2026.  At 3:30PM we will have a review of the day's event and the evaluators will highlight special items seen that day.

The cost for admission is $5.  There will be a $10 charge for evaluations. Children under 12 years of age will have free admission.
