Putnam CARES launches new digital resource guide to improve access to community support services

Just in time for Mental Health Awareness Month, Putnam CARES, in partnership with Family Support Services of West Central Indiana, has announced the launch of a new digital community resource guide designed to help individuals and families more easily connect with local and regional support services.

The online guide provides centralized access to a wide range of resources, including food assistance, mental health services, substance use and recovery support, domestic violence services, childcare resources, utility assistance, transportation options, government support programs, and other essential community services.

Accessible online at fsswci.net/resource-guide, the guide was developed through collaboration between Family Support Services of West Central Indiana and members of Putnam CARES, who provided local insight and input to help ensure the information reflects the needs of the community.

“Finding help can be overwhelming, especially during difficult times,” said Putnam CARES Team Lead and Family Support Services Executive Director Elizabeth Butts. “This resource guide is intended to make support more visible, accessible, and easier to navigate for anyone seeking assistance for themselves or their family.”

Similar to the “green sheet” of the past, the digital guide brings together trusted organizations and programs into one easy-to-use location, reducing barriers for community members who may not know where to begin when searching for support.

The launch of the guide represents an important step in broader, ongoing efforts to strengthen awareness of and access to services throughout the region.

“While this guide is a valuable tool, the work does not stop here,” Putnam CARES Steering Committee member and Putnam County Community Foundation Executive Director Neysa Meyer shared. “Putnam CARES and its partners remain committed to identifying gaps in services, improving collaboration among organizations, and helping ensure that people in need can access support when and where they need it.”

Community members, organizations, and service providers are encouraged to explore and share the guide to help increase awareness of available resources across Putnam County and surrounding areas.
