The Illinois Rolling Thunder Chapter 3 visited Lawrenceville Saturday for the formal dedication of a chair honoring those who served locally who were lost in warfare.
The group held the ceremony at the Veterans Monument located on the northwest corner of the Lawrence County Courthouse grounds. The POW/MIA Honor Chair is the 57th to be placed at various sites across the state by the group. The ceremony included the reading of the names of those from Lawrence County who fought in the military and were lost in action and their remains never recovered and identified. A dozen or so were honored by those in attendance including representatives of the various local service organizations
