Potawatomi Park Inc., operating as Potawatomi Wildlife Park, convened its annual meeting followed by the monthly board meeting, during which a new slate of officers was elected for the 2024-2025 term.
The board welcomed Wyatt Stephan as President, J.H. Northrop retained the Vice President role, Tana Beeson continued as Treasurer, and River Watson assumed the Secretary position. The organization expresses its thanks to Mark Espich, our outgoing President, and Larry Beeson, our outgoing Secretary, for their invaluable years of service and ongoing dedication to the organization.
Reflecting on recent developments, the Park Manager remarked, "Since joining Potawatomi Wildlife Park two years ago in May 2022, we've seen significant change. Our current board comprises seasoned members with deep organizational knowledge alongside new members injecting fresh perspectives and ideas." Notably, the addition of youth member Alex Gaughan, a recent graduate eager to transition to a full-time board member in July 2024, reflects a commitment to fostering generational diversity and innovation.
"I'm grateful to Mark and Larry for their invaluable help during my transition into this role," the Park Manager continued. "With these leadership changes, our focus continues to be executing our strategic plan, networking within the community, and improving our recreational and educational opportunities.
Potawatomi Wildlife Park offers year-round opportunities for adventure, connection, and education from sunrise to sunset. Established through the visionary legacy of Vernon Romine in 1979, the park spans over 300 acres. The park's mission is to connect people with nature, local history, and community through low-impact recreation and educational programming.
