Anglers from across the region will descend upon Marshall County this spring as Plymouth prepares to host "The Great Midwestivus II," a premier Kayak Adventure Series (KAS) fishing tournament scheduled for April 24-25.
The two-day tournament will offer prime pre-spawn fishing conditions for both largemouth and smallmouth bass. Competitors will have the opportunity to cast their lines across all public lakes, rivers, and streams within Marshall County, including a significant stretch of the renowned Tippecanoe River.
The tournament format challenges anglers to catch a five-fish limit over the course of the Friday and Saturday competition. A unique highlight of the weekend is the "Friday Afternoon Sesh," a designated time that encourages participants to explore and fish new waters. The stakes for the tournament are high, as top-performing anglers will be followed by a professional film crew to be featured in an upcoming episode of KAS TV.
Beyond the competition on the water, The Great Midwestivus II is expected to be a boon for the local economy. Hosted as part of the 2026 Kayak Adventure Series tour, the event actively encourages visiting anglers and their families to explore Marshall County's outdoor recreation. Organizers are also placing a spotlight on the Plymouth community, directing visitors to enjoy the area's local breweries, restaurants, and businesses during their stay.

Registration for the tournament is currently open. Organizers are encouraging early sign-ups, as the first 50 anglers to register for the Individual Division will receive a $100 KAS Sponsors Gift Bag at check-in.
All registration, scoring, and payments are handled through the TourneyX platform. To secure a spot, anglers should follow these steps:
- Create a TourneyX Account: Sign up for a free angler account on the TourneyX website.
- Find the Event: Navigate to the specific tournament page for "The Great Midwestivus II" Individual or Team Division.
- Complete Payment: Select "Register for Tourney" on the event page. The entry fee for the Individual Division is $150.00.
- Sign the Waiver: Complete the mandatory seasonal liability waiver, which can be found on the Kayak Adventure Series "For Anglers" page.
All participants must possess a valid Indiana fishing license for the waters they intend to fish. Additionally, safety and standardized equipment are strictly enforced; anglers must wear a proper life jacket (PFD) and use an approved measuring board, such as a Ketch or Hawg Trough.
The tournament also welcomes younger competitors. Youth anglers aged 10 to 20 can join the "Next Up" Division, which offers a 50% discount on the individual entry fee. Any angler under the age of 16 must have a parent or guardian sign their liability waiver.
For technical assistance with registration, prospective participants can contact Tournament Director Drew Gregory via email at info@kayakadventureseries.com.
