Plymouth School Board faces wave of resignations, considers key administrative appointments at Tuesday meeting

The Plymouth Community School Corporation Board of Trustees meets tonight at 6 p.m. in the central office conference room, facing significant personnel agendas of the year — including a notable string of resignations spanning coaching, teaching, and administrative roles.

The board will consider the retirement of Glenda Bright, Cafeteria Assistant Cook at Plymouth High School, effective July 17.

Twenty resignations are on the agenda, reflecting turnover across multiple buildings and departments. Among the most notable are Joshua Troyer, who is stepping down as PHS Athletic Director and Girls Golf Head Coach, effective July 3; Ryan Wolfe, PHS Baseball Head Coach; Scott Michel, PHS Agriculture Teacher and FFA Assistant Sponsor; John Johnson, PHS Science Teacher; and Curtis Nordmann, Boys Track Head Coach. Lincoln Junior High will also see the departure of EL Teacher and Language Arts Department Chairperson Julia Clark, along with the Robotics coaching staff. Principal's Secretary Sara Terrones at Webster Elementary has also submitted her resignation.

On the appointments side, the board will consider hiring Shannon Barrett as an English Teacher at PHS, Michael Chavez as a Science Teacher, Wyatt Harrington as Agriculture Power Teacher, and Gwen Kriss as a Temporary Athletic Department Trainer. Devon Podlesak is being transferred into both the Boys and Girls Golf Head Coach positions, and Jason Breden — recently named Boys Varsity Basketball Coach — will transition to a certified Athletic Coordinator and Weight Lifting Teacher role at Lincoln Junior High.

Under business transactions, Superintendent Pam Campbell will present the appointment of the new Webster Elementary School Principal for board consideration. PHS Assistant Principal Joshua Dingeldein will ask the board to approve a new Dean of Students and Ryan Welch as the new Athletic Director.

Liz Richie will address the board regarding the before- and after-school program. Chelsea Baca, Director of Marketing and Communications, and Amy Kraszyk, Director of Food Services, will deliver their annual updates.

Additional items include a Memorandum of Understanding with the Plymouth Park Department, a School Nurse Agreement with Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, and two resolutions related to the disposal of certain personal property.
