Plymouth Police make 5 arrests over weekend on traffic and public safety charges

The Plymouth Police Department made five arrests over the weekend of June 19th through 21st, including a drunk driving arrest, a public intoxication incident at a local hospital, and three drivers taken into custody for license violations.

Saturday evening, June 19th, at approximately 9:00 PM, Patrolman Thornton initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Hoham Drive and Oak Drive. After speaking with the driver, officers determined that Jose Eneas Avilez-Siles, 35, of Plymouth had never obtained a driver's license. Avilez-Siles was taken into custody, transported to the Marshall County Jail, and charged with operating a vehicle without ever obtaining a license — with a prior charge on record.

On Saturday morning, June 20th, shortly after 10:00 AM, Officer Krynock stopped a vehicle driven by Federico M. Ramos-Ramirez, 27, of Indianapolis at U.S. 31 and 9A Road for a traffic infraction. A check revealed Ramos-Ramirez had a suspended-prior driver's license status. He was lodged in the Marshall County Jail.

Later that same afternoon at 1:38 PM, Officer Krynock conducted another traffic stop that led to a second license arrest. Aaron J. Kenny, 42, of Fort Wayne was found to also have a suspended-prior license status and was lodged at the Marshall County Jail.

In the early hours of Sunday, June 21st, at 2:50 AM, Officer Bridget Hite conducted a traffic stop at Markley Avenue and Oak Drive. Upon approaching the vehicle, Officer Hite detected an odor consistent with alcoholic beverages. She requested the driver exit the vehicle for a field sobriety test.

Following the test, Officer Allen transported the driver, Kenneth J. St. Clair, of Grovertown to Plymouth Hospital for a blood draw. Results confirmed St. Clair was above the legal limit. He was lodged in the Marshall County Jail on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

That same evening, at approximately 5:40 PM, Marshall County Dispatch asked Plymouth Police to check on a male subject in the north parking lot of the hospital property. Officers arrived and conducted an investigation, resulting in the arrest of Raymond L. Buck, 29, of LaPaz. Buck was booked into the Marshall County Jail on charges of public intoxication, resisting law enforcement, and disorderly conduct.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
