Plymouth Police arrest two suspects in separate Hit-and-Run crashes

The Plymouth Police Department responded to two separate hit-and-run accidents over a 24-hour period late last week, resulting in the arrest of two individuals.

The first incident occurred on Thursday afternoon, March 12th, when police were dispatched to a hit-and-run crash in the Subway parking lot located at 1633 North Michigan Street. Plymouth Police Officer Fase arrived on the scene to conduct an investigation.

Thanks to statements provided by witnesses, officers were able to identify the vehicle that fled the scene. A short time later, the suspect vehicle was located parked in the Walmart parking lot. The driver, identified as 24-year-old Bryce Lucas of Hamlet, was found inside the store and taken into custody. Lucas was transported to the Marshall County Jail, where he was booked on a charge of leaving the scene of a property damage crash.

Early the next morning, on Friday, March 13th, at approximately 12:09 a.m., Plymouth Police Officer Witkowski was dispatched to the area of North Michigan and Jefferson Streets for a second report of a hit-and-run. The victim informed police that a vehicle had struck his car and driven away.

The suspect vehicle was tracked as it pulled onto Simon Street and stopped in front of a residence. Officers arrived at the location and made contact with the driver, identified as 43-year-old Brandi R. McQuisten of Plymouth. During the investigation, officers determined that McQuisten had been operating the vehicle while intoxicated.

McQuisten was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail. She was booked on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI) and leaving the scene of a property damage crash. She was issued a future court date and held on a $1,500 cash bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. All suspects are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
