Two LaPorte men were arrested early Tuesday morning after Plymouth Police were dispatched to 1265 Baker Street, the Riverside Commons Apartments, for a possible domestic disturbance.

City officers arriving on the scene were notified that three males had fled in a vehicle. The vehicle was spotted at 1 a.m. traveling south on Columbus Drive, and a traffic stop was initiated.

The driver, George L. Childers, 28, of LaPorte, was found to be operating the vehicle while intoxicated. During the investigation, it was also discovered that a passenger, Andrew L. McFarland, 29, of LaPorte, had battered another male at the residence with a glass alcohol bottle.

Childers was taken into custody, transported to the Marshall County Jail, and booked on a pending charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated .15% or higher.

McFarland was transported to jail and lodged for charges of battery resulting in moderate bodily injury and disorderly conduct.

Both individuals were held on $1,500 cash bonds.
