Plymouth Police arrest 4 in 3 separate incidents Tuesday

Plymouth Police Department officers arrested four individuals in three separate incidents throughout the day on Tuesday, June 23rd.

The day's first arrest came at 9:51 a.m. when Officer Krynock conducted a traffic stop at U.S. 31 and 11th Road. The driver, 32-year-old Tatyana T. Jones of South Bend, was stopped for a traffic infraction and found to have never been issued a driver's license. Jones was taken into custody and held in the Marshall County Jail for approximately three hours before her cash bond was posted.

Later Tuesday, Plymouth Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Jackson Street following a report of a woman refusing to leave a residence. Officer Thornton located Marisa Elyn Oviedo, 33, on the property along with her belongings. During contact with Oviedo, the officer detected a strong odor of marijuana. When Oviedo resisted and refused to surrender her handbag, she was taken into custody and escorted to a patrol vehicle. A subsequent search of the handbag revealed a pipe that tested positive for methamphetamine, as well as a THC product.

Oviedo was lodged in the Marshall County Jail on charges of resisting law enforcement, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of paraphernalia. She was held on a $1,500 cash bond.

At approximately 3:50 p.m., Officer Schieber conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of U.S. 30 and Pioneer Drive after observing a registration violation. K9 Kyzer was deployed during the investigation and alerted to the presence of a narcotic odor in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle turned up suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

The driver, Blake Slone, 24, and passenger Sarah Botset, 22, both of Walkerton, were taken into custody and lodged in the Marshall County Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia.

Charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
