Plymouth Park Board updated on projects

Members of the Plymouth Park Board met Monday afternoon in the Conservation Clubhouse. 

Park Superintendent Mike Hite thanked members who participated in the pickleball courts groundbreaking during spring break.  He said the construction company put up the construction fence on Monday and hoped to get dirt moved this week although the heavy rains could modify their start.  Hite said the project is scheduled to be completed in early June.

The park superintendent said phase III of the Greenway Trail Project in River Park Square had the construction administration set for bid with anticipation that construction could get underway this fall. 

The permit process for the Greenway Trail in Price’s Pond is in progress.  Superintendent Hite said obtaining permits will take a few months.  The plan is for the bid process to happen late this year or early 2025 with construction to begin in the spring of 2025. 

Superintendent Hite said Plymouth’s Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt brought some equipment to Centennial Park and worked on clearing some of the brush of the terraced area adjacent to the park office.  Hite said they knocked down the weeks, brush and small trees.  Some of the original terracing was exposed including some stairs.  Hite told the park board he was given approval for an open burn to remove more of the overgrowth on the terraced area along the Schuh Ditch.

The Plymouth Park Board also approved the requests of St. Michael Catholic Church and Operation Quiet Comfort for family pool passes to use in their fundraisers.
