While conducting foot patrols in Centennial Park during the Marshall County Blueberry Festival Saturday evening, an officer with the Plymouth Police Department observed a male and female with a known protection order in place.

At about 8 p.m. on August 30th, Corporal Schieber observed 28-year-old Jayne Yakim and 27-year-old Ridge Zimmerman, both of Plymouth, and knew there were protection orders in place from an unrelated incident.

After confirming the orders were still active, both Yakim and Zimmerman were taken into custody and lodged at the Marshall County Jail on the criminal charge of invasion of privacy.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
