A Plymouth Police officer arrested two drivers for suspended licenses within the same shift Friday, with stops occurring hours apart on two of the city's busiest corridors.
The first arrest came at 12:15 p.m. when Officer Krynock stopped a vehicle driven by Tondrew S. Tyler, 28, of South Bend, for a traffic infraction at the intersection of U.S. 30 and U.S. 31. A check of Tyler's driving record revealed a suspended license status with a prior offense. He was lodged in the Marshall County Jail.
Later that evening, at 9:08 p.m., Officer Krynock stopped another vehicle for a traffic infraction at 1827 North Michigan Street. The driver, identified as Tyrie L. Ingram, 36, of Fort Wayne, was also found to have a suspended license with a prior offense. She was lodged in the Marshall County Jail.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
