A Plymouth man was arrested on alcohol related charges late at night. Around 11:15 pm on Wednesday, June 19th, Plymouth Police were dispatched to the Solomon Court area following a report of an intoxicated, screaming male.
The male, 29 year old Karl Pogue Jr of Plymouth, could be heard screaming by the police about two blocks away.
When the police located Pogue on Baker Street, he was highly intoxicated and making comments related to self harm. Reporting officer 5788 says the police tried to convince Pogue to seek medical help at the hospital, but the Plymouth man was uncooperative. Due to his uncooperative behavior, Pogue was taken into police custody, and was taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
When Pogue’s medical treatment was complete, he was cleared and taken to the Marshall County Jail. He was booked into the County Jail on June 20th at 12:31 am on public intoxication by alcohol, and a new charge of disorderly conduct. His bond was set at $255, and was released on said bond at around 4:00 pm the same day.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
