A property damage accident Monday afternoon led to the arrest of a Plymouth man for operating a vehicle without a license.
Plymouth Police responded to a crash at the intersection of East Jefferson and Michigan Streets at approximately 1:45 p.m. on Monday, February 9.
During the investigation, Officer Wallace discovered that one of the drivers involved in the collision was operating his vehicle without ever having obtained a driver's license.
Eveerth Zapata-Barahona, 31, of Lincolnway East in Plymouth, was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Marshall County Jail.
Zapata-Barahona was booked on an initial charge of operating a vehicle without ever obtaining a license, which is a violation of Indiana motor vehicle law.
He was held on a $100 cash bond and released after a short period. Zapata-Barahona has been scheduled to appear in Marshall County Superior Court II in March to answer to the charge.
No information was released regarding injuries or the extent of property damage from the accident, which remains under investigation.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
