A 24-year-old man from Plymouth was arrested late Friday night after becoming combative with law enforcement officers working a holiday traffic detail, resulting in charges of public intoxication and battery on a law enforcement officer.
At approximately 10:09 p.m. on July 3, Marshall County deputies working traffic control on Plymouth-LaPorte Trail near Swan Lake Golf Course were alerted to a possible domestic disturbance in the area. During the investigation, officers determined that Brian Licona, 24, was under the influence of alcohol to a degree that endangered himself or others. When officers intervened, a battery occurred involving a law enforcement officer.
Licona was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail, where his bond was set at $1,500. He faces charges of public intoxication and battery on a law enforcement officer.
Readers are reminded that criminal charges are merely allegations. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
