This month, the Plymouth Common Council approved an amendment to the city-owned electric vehicle charging stations ordinance on the first reading.
With the help of a grant, the city installed a dual-vehicle charging station at River Park Square. Part of the grant requirement was to provide users with the first two hours of charging at no cost for a minimum of two years. That 2-year period ends on Dec. 31, and the city council approved a fee for using city-owned vehicle charging stations that goes into effect on Jan. 1, 2025.
The fee to use all city-owned electric vehicle charging stations will be a flat hourly rate of $2 per hour.
The city council will consider the ordinance amendment on the second and third readings at their meeting on Monday.
