Plymouth city meetings tonight: Red Rock Inn Demolition, Street Paving, and SROs on the Agenda

The City of Plymouth is gearing up for a busy evening of local government, with the Board of Public Works and Safety and the Common Council set to tackle packed agendas tonight.

The meetings will kick off at 6:00 p.m. in the second-floor Council Chambers of City Hall. The public is invited to attend in person or watch the live stream on the city’s official YouTube channel.

The Board of Public Works and Safety will open the evening with reports from city department heads. A major item on the docket is the city engineer’s recommendation for the 2026 Street Paving Projects bid award.

The board is also expected to revisit a tabled request from the owner of the Red Rock Inn. The owner is asking the city to delay a demolition order on the property until a court hearing in May. That hearing is tied to the ongoing eviction process of the Mi Camino Restaurant, which began in February.

Additionally, the city attorney will present a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Plymouth Police Department and the Plymouth Community School Corporation regarding School Resource Officers. The board will also review a request to close a short section of local streets for the city's monthly Cars & Coffee events.

Immediately following the Board of Works, the Plymouth Common Council will convene at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will begin with a public hearing regarding additional appropriations.

Following the hearing, the city attorney will present three resolutions for the council's consideration: one for the additional appropriations, a second for the transfer of funds, and a third establishing an Indiana Slum and Blight Spot Basis Declaratory Resolution.

Other business on the council's agenda includes the acceptance of several CF-1 Tax Abatement Compliance Forms and the approval of donations for the upcoming Mayor’s Summer of Music series.

Before adjourning, council members will receive an update on the ONE Marshall County initiative and the county's Comprehensive Plan.
