Plymouth city meetings tonight: Public Works & Safety Board and Common Council to convene in City Hall

The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety and the Common Council will hold their regular meetings tonight at City Hall, with an agenda covering city department reports, a fire protection agreement amendment, a public hearing on the 2027 budget, and more.

The evening begins at 6 p.m. with the Board of Public Works and Safety meeting. The board will hear reports from various city department heads on the current state of municipal operations.

The city attorney will present a resolution amending the Fire Protection and Emergency Medical Services Agreement between the City of Plymouth and Center Township.

Additionally, the clerk-treasurer will present a request for the temporary placement of a generator for the Heartland Arts Center in the 200 block of North Michigan Street, supporting the organization's ongoing downtown presence.

The Common Council meeting follows at 6:30 p.m. and features a public hearing on the proposed 2027 budget — an opportunity for residents to weigh in on the city's spending priorities for the coming year.

The council's agenda also includes a memorandum of understanding regarding the Historic Firehouse Project Grant Funds, and an ordinance for appropriations and Tax Rates for 2027.

Both meetings are open to the public. Those attending in person should enter through the Garro Street door and proceed to the second-floor Council Chambers.
