Plymouth cheerleaders make school history — headed to State Finals for the first time

For the first time in school history, the Plymouth High School Cheerleading Competition Team is state-bound.

The team has qualified for the Indiana Cheer Championship State Finals in the Timeout Division, marking a major milestone for the program and the school.

The State Finals will take place on Nov. 8 at New Castle High School.

Head Coach Brenna Langowski shared what this accomplishment means for the program:

“Qualifying for state for the first time in school history is such a proud and emotional moment for our program, our athletes, and our coaching staff,” said Langowski. “These girls have poured their hearts into this season — putting in countless hours of practice, 12-plus hour competition days, pushing through challenges, and supporting one another every step of the way. To see their hard work pay off and to represent Plymouth on this stage means everything.”

She added, “This milestone sets the tone for many years ahead. It fills me with pride to see our team working so hard for something meaningful, and it gives so many of our little girls and boys across PCSC who have an interest in cheerleading something to look forward to. It shows that cheerleading at the high school level can be both competitive and inspiring.”

Since taking over the program four years ago, Langowski and assistant coach Jaylee Ramirez have worked to elevate Plymouth Cheerleading’s competitive presence.

"While we continue to proudly cheer on our Rockie football team and soon the Pilgrims and Lady Pilgrims during basketball season, having something of our own to strive for has been such a rewarding journey,” Langowski said. “The pride I feel in what this team has accomplished is hard to put into words. This — this feeling and pride — is exactly why Coach Ramirez and I have pushed these girls and dedicated ourselves to building this program. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for Plymouth Cheerleading!”

Only the top 60% of teams advanced to state from regional qualifiers — and Plymouth’s placement among them marks an incredible achievement for the young program.
