In December the City of Plymouth was awarded a $647,181 Community Crossing Grant for paving projects this season. Mayor Listenberger said each year the city budgets $600,000 for street projects and “These funds will double our current street projects in the City of Plymouth in 2025."
Projects using the Community Crossing grant include Lincolnway East from Jefferson Street east to the city limits, South Michigan Street from Oakhill Avenue north to the Yellow River Bridge, Lake Street from South Michigan Street to Gideon Street, LaPorte Street from Fifth Street to the dead-end on Ben Lane, Seventh Street from Lake Avenue to LaPorte Street, Garro Street from Third Street to Fifth Street, Nursery Street from Rose Street to South Michigan Street, Marlou Place, Roy Street from Gibson Street to Lincolnway East, and Gideon Street from Pennsylvania Street to the dead end.
Bids were received from:
Niblock Excavating for $1,352,906,
Milestone Contractors for $1,285,379,
E & B Paving for $1,198,224, and
Rieth Riley for $1,235,808.
Last week City Engineer Dan Sellers told the Board of Public Works and Safety he reviewed the bids, and his recommendation for the lowest and most responsive bid was E & B Paving. The Board unanimously awarded this year’s paving projects to E & B.
