Plymouth Board of Public Works accepts Menominee Heights infrastructure, approves Kiwanis street closure

The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety took action on two requests Monday evening, unanimously approving the dedication of new subdivision infrastructure and greenlighting a temporary street closure for a children's community event.

City Engineer Dan Sellers brought forward the dedication of infrastructure for Phases II and III of the Menominee Heights Subdivision. The newly accepted infrastructure includes water lines, sanitary sewer lines, storm water lines, sidewalks, street lighting, and curbs, as well as 225 feet of Chestnut Circle and 265 feet of Knot Court.

Sellers noted that with the board's acceptance, the responsibility for maintaining the new infrastructure now falls to the City of Plymouth. The Board voted unanimously to approve the dedication.

Also, Monday evening, Anna Corbett of the Plymouth Kiwanis Club appeared before the board to request a partial street closure of Becknel Drive, from Randolph Street to the Freyman Shelter in Centennial Park. The closure is intended to ensure the safety of children participating in the Kiwanis Obstacle Course event, scheduled for the morning of Saturday, June 6th. Corbett assured the board that the closure would be brief, lasting only a few hours while the kids take part in the activity. The request was approved.
