A small plane crash involving a Cessna 170A occurred in Parke County just after noon on Wednesday.
The Parke County Sheriff’s Office received a report at 12:20 p.m. from the pilot, an 83-year-old man from Illinois, who sustained only minor scrapes to his arm. He was flying from Chicago to Kentucky when the crash happened on County Road 200 E, east of Warrior Road, southwest of Turkey Run State Park.
Parke County deputies are investigating the incident, and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) have been notified. Marshall Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene, providing treatment to the pilot, who hasn't been named at this time.
