A vehicle left the scene of a death on a Starke County road over the weekend.
Just before 6 p.m., Saturday, deputies with the Starke County Sheriff's Department were dispatched to the area of County Road 350 W. and County Road 500 S., near North Judson, following a report of an unresponsive individual lying alongside the roadway.
Upon arrival, emergency responders located the individual deceased. Initial responding deputies observed injuries consistent with the individual having been struck by a vehicle. Deputies also recovered what appeared to be vehicle debris in the roadway near the scene; however, no involved vehicle was present.
Starke County Sheriff's Detectives collected evidence during the investigation that led them to believe the suspect vehicle is a black passenger car with front-end damage.
The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
