The Parke County Sheriff's Office is currently Investigating a Saturday night shooting.
According to Sheriff Jason Frazier, deputies responded Saturday night to a report of a shooting that occurred in Howard.
Skyler Chowning, 25, Veedersburg, sustained a gunshot wound to his left inner thigh and was being transported to the hospital by Hannah Boswell 21, Kingman.
Deputies and medics were able to intercept the pair on Tow Path Road, and both stated Chowning was shot by an unknown suspect outside a residence.
The investigation revealed that Chowning’s injury was accidental, self-inflicted. Chowning was flown to an Indianapolis hospital from the scene with a non-life threatening injury. Hannah Boswell was arrested on Possession of a Legend Drug.
Frazier noted the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are likely on both parties.
Rockville Police, Indiana State Police, Vermillion County Deputies, Bloomingdale Fire Department and Parke County EMS assisted at the scene.
