Marshall County Democrats and others gathered at the pavilion in River Park Square Saturday morning to organize for the “No Kings 2” protests.  Materials to make signs and information on their upcoming candidate recruitment event next month were available. They also had signup sheets to get more involved in the Marshall County Democrat party, and postcards to send to representatives!

Sister Edith, Jamee Decio, Congressional district 2 candidate, and Brian Smith, the District 2 Democrat Chair, shared a few words from their hearts.  Participants shared their concerns and stories before marching up to Michigan Street.

An estimated four hundred protestors from Marshall County and surrounding counties lined North Michigan Street from LaPorte Street to Jefferson Street for the “No Kings 2” protests across Michiana and the country.

Megan Rogers, Marshall County Democratic Chairman, said, “As I moved back and forth from the pavilion to Michigan Street, I could hear all the honks and shouts of support. I was overwhelmed with the attendance we had.”

The "No Kings 2" protest, held across the United States on Saturday, was a nationwide demonstration against what organizers called the authoritarian actions and overreach of the Donald Trump administration. It was the second mass mobilization by the progressive "No Kings" movement, with millions of people participating in thousands of events.
