A new face will soon head up the Lawrence County Industrial Development Council (IDC) in the near future.
Sarah Griesmer has been appointed as the new director of the group which works to spearhead economic and business growth within the local community recently by the IDC Board of Directors. She is a native of Lawrence County and currently is employed at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital (LCMH). Griesmer will replace outgoing director Don Wagner, who is retiring at the end of May.
Griesmer spoke with GIANT-FM News and says that her vision for the future of the IDC includes rebrand the IDC and publicize exactly what it is and does regarding its efforts to entice new businesses to locate here and retain and assist local businesses already here. She added that having one of the 8 Foreign Trade Zones (FTZ) in the state of Illinois is extremely beneficial and must be taken advantage of.
