A new housing subdivision has been given the official go-ahead in Vincennes.
The City Council Monday voted unanimously approve the rezoning of property at 15th and Broadway Streets. The move will allow for the construction of new duplex homes in that area which will become the Broadway Place subdivision. The affirmative vote by city leaders also followed the approval of the planned development by the Knox County Area Plan Commission.
The new project is part of the continuing effort by Knox County and the city of Vincennes to increase and improve housing as an incentive to attract more prospective workers and families to relocate and live in the region.
