Sunday evening, November 24th, at about 6:45, deputies with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to the West Shore Apartments at Lake of the Woods for a domestic fight in progress.
Deputies located a female who had been battered, and there were three small children present. The police report said they were all living in poor conditions.
The male subject was identified as Michael Carver, 30, of Bremen. He had a difficult time taking orders from the deputies and was placed into custody, and he had THC vape cartridges located on his person when he was taken into custody.
EMS was called to the scene due to injuries the female sustained.
Carver was booked into the Marshall County Jail, and a probable cause affidavit was filled out and signed by a judge. He was charged with domestic battery, domestic battery in the presence of a child under 16, domestic battery causing injury, domestic battery with a deadly weapon, strangulation, neglect of a dependent, resisting law enforcement, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia.
Michael Carver is being held in the county jail on a $5,000 cash bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
