On Thursday, September 18th, around 10:30 p.m., a vehicle was observed failing to stop at a stop sign with improper headlights and a front windshield violation in the area of Baker Street and Randolph Street.

Officer Ayala with the Plymouth Police Department was working bike patrol and made contact with the driver, 29-year-old Ana G. Mencias-Valle of Dora Lane in Plymouth.

It was discovered that Mencias was driving on a suspended license with priors. She was transported to the Marshall County Jail, where she was booked in for driving while her license or permit was suspended with a prior status as a class A misdemeanor.

Mencias was held on a $500 cash bond for less than an hour.  She was released after posting the cash bond and will appear in court later in the month.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
