Tuesday, McDonald’s released its latest Economic Impact Report in partnership with Oxford Economics, highlighting the significant and often unexpected ways McDonald’s restaurants support Indiana’s economy.
The report shows that the McDonald’s System generated more than $1.7 billion in total GDP impact across Indiana, with its $927 million direct contribution equivalent to approximately 61% of the state’s grain farming industry. McDonald’s economic activity also produced more than $532 million in federal, state, and local tax revenue, with each job created generating more than $24,300 in additional tax revenue. Overall, the McDonald’s System directly and indirectly supported more than 28,100 jobs statewide through restaurant operations, supply chains, and local spending.
McDonald’s also released additional statewide findings you may find interesting, including:
- The McDonald’s System purchased more than $66 million of quality ingredients in Indiana, including more than 33 million eggs in 2024. One of its suppliers is Berry Plastics, a leading Indiana-based purveyor of cold cups to McDonald’s restaurants.
- Nearly 21,800 restaurant Crew Members and Managers work at McDonald’s restaurants across Indiana.
- In one year, the McDonald’s System provided more than $709,000 in tuition assistance to nearly 320 Indiana Crew Members, helping them improve English skills, earn high school diplomas, work toward college degrees, and plan for future careers.
