Marshall County Relay for Life surpasses goal, chicken and noodle fundraiser Oct. 23

The weather on Saturday evening was perfect for the 30^th Annual Marshall County Relay for Life event held in Plymouth’s River Park Square.

Relay For Life is the signature fundraising event and community movement of the American Cancer Society, designed to celebrate cancer survivors, remember loved ones who have passed away, and raise funds and awareness to fight cancer and support patient services. Participants form teams, take turns walking a track or path for several hours, and engage in various community activities while raising money for the organization's mission. 

Thirteen teams took to the Marshall County track and walked from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday. Teams continued to raise funds throughout the evening, offering opportunities to purchase food, participate in the silent auction, and buy luminaries.

At the end of the evening, Marshall County Relay For Life had surpassed its goal of $30,000, raising $40,346, and the effort is not yet complete.

As Relay for Life wraps up another season, there is one last fundraiser for 2025. It’s a delicious drive-thru chicken and noodle dinner created by Bob’s Cafeteria and served to your vehicle window by the volunteers of Marshall County Relay for Life on Oct. 23 from 4 to 6 p.m. The dinner includes chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, a dinner roll, and a cookie. 

Pre-sale tickets are $12 each, and the drive-thru is at Bob’s Cafeteria, 610 East Jefferson Street in Plymouth.

All proceeds benefit Marshall County Relay For Life 2025, supporting cancer research and programs that assist cancer patients.  The Marshall County Relay for Life Team is grateful for all the support and participation.
