Purdue Extension-Marshall County is offering a ServSafe Food Manager training and a ServSafe Food Handler training in the County.
The ServSafe Food Manager training is an eight-hour class and proctored exam that will be held on March 19, at 8:00 AM, and a second training opportunity will be on May 7 at 8:00 AM. It satisfies Indiana requirements to become a Certified Food Protection Manager. The full 1-day training includes a manual and proctored exam, or just a proctored exam option. The certification is valid for five years.
The ServSafe Food Handler training is a half-day training that includes a booklet and assessment. The ServSafe Food Handler training will be held on March 24, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 PM. ServSafe Food Handler satisfies training requirements for home-based vendors outlined in IC 16-42-5.3. This program focuses on key aspects, including basic food safety, personal hygiene, cross-contamination and allergens, time and temperature, and cleaning and sanitation.
These trainings will be held at the Purdue Extension Office in Marshall County, 112 W. Jefferson St., Rm. 304, Plymouth. Pre-registration is required for these events.
