The Marshall County Historical Society is currently accepting gently used items for their annual Sidewalk Sale Fundraiser.

Each year, during Sidewalk Sales from July 10 - 12, the Historical Society sells a variety of yard and garage sale items on the sidewalk and inside the museum. These items are donated by people who have things that are still usable, collectible, or just too good to throw away.

The younger generation isn’t interested in grandma’s sewing machine, grandpa’s clarinet, or Uncle Joe’s lamp.  Items that you still find valuable but must part with because of downsizing.  Small kitchen appliances, board games, toys, and puzzles are examples of items the museum is collecting.  Home decor, records, tools, end tables, small sports equipment, knick-knacks, CDs, electronics, musical instruments, are some of the items they are looking for.

The museum carefully reviews the items, and if they are needed for the museum archives, they will keep them; otherwise, those donations help raise money needed to fund programming and supplies that aren’t covered in their annual budget.

Donations are now being accepted at the museum, 123 North Michigan Street in downtown Plymouth.  You may drop off your items Tuesday through Saturday between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
