Marshall County EMA Director Jack Garner has announced two free National Level Disaster Training courses coming to Marshall County this month, open to public officials, community leaders, and emergency responders.
The first course, Disaster Recovery in Rural Communities (MGT-415), takes place on Tuesday, July 21st, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Purdue Extension Office in the County Building. Designed for public officials and community leaders, the course focuses on effective and efficient implementation of recovery efforts following disasters in rural communities, with an emphasis on long-term social and economic recovery. The second course, Mass Fatalities Planning and Response for Rural Communities (AWR-232), is scheduled for Thursday, July 30th, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Plymouth Community School Corporation's Board Room. The awareness level course covers critical resources, response strategies, stakeholder partnerships, and comprehensive mass fatality incident planning for rural communities.
