The Marshall County Council convenes tonight at 5:30 p.m. in the second-floor meeting room of the County Building, with a full agenda covering finances, economic development, and several key appointments.
The meeting opens with an attorney's report, followed by updates from the Budget/Finance, Highway, and Job Classification and Compensation Subcommittees. The Marshall County Museum will present its quarterly report, and the CASA Director will seek approval to apply for Capacity and Matching grants.
A notable presentation comes from Steve Dalton of Cender Dalton, the county's financial consultant, who will address the Special Local Income Tax — a .25% LIT currently being used to pay the jail bond.
Greg Hildebrand, CEO of the Marshall County Economic Development Corporation, will also deliver his quarterly report to the council.
Under council business, members will consider additional appropriations and transfers, the establishment of an AARP Fund for the Emergency Management Agency, and an amendment to the 2026 Salary Ordinance. The council will also consider approving invoices from Lebbin Law and Cender Dalton, and will make appointments to the Bremen Library Board, Plymouth Economic Development, and the Municipal Unit Strategic Taskforce (MUST).
As always, the meeting includes time for public comment. The meeting is open to the public and will be streamed live on the county's YouTube channel.
